Codapay started as bespoke payroll software ⚙️
Our solution for umbrella companies was once a bespoke product that was later packaged up into one-size-fits-all software. This was originally developed to plug the gaps of existing solutions that simply didn’t cut the mustard.
Most of our clients now run our off-the-shelf software; however, we still create custom functionality as and when requested. We are able to offer this service thanks to our experienced UK-based development team, alongside our consultants who have worked across all industries.
We operate primarily within the recruitment sector, working with businesses large and small, meaning we have the ability to adapt to less common business structures and types. If you require bespoke payroll software, we can help – whatever your industry or specialism.
We specialise in SaaS using trusted, future-proofed platforms
We pride ourselves on our transparency when it comes to the boring stuff
Developing a custom solution, of course, isn’t an overnight process. It takes careful planning and execution to ensure the final product suits your brief perfectly. However, our well-resourced team can get the ball rolling as quickly as possible.
Get in touch with us and we’ll arrange a free initial meeting (virtual or on-site) to get to know you and your requirements.
Scoping and agreement
Next, we’ll guide you through a functional specification to confirm your required functionality and technology.
Your dedicated team will get to work on getting the configuration just right. You'll receive regular updates on progress.
Our Quality Assurance team will sign off the first instance of the software before we pass it onto you for testing and feedback.
We’ll agree on a date to go live with your payroll software once you have signed off any amendments. Ongoing support included.
Frequently asked questions
How involved will I be in the process?
We like to nail down as much information as possible when we scope out the work. You’ll have a dedicated Account Manager to assist you along the way, meaning if we – or you – have any questions, we can have a chat about it.
How long will it take from start to finish?
Custom software builds vary depending on the complexity of your requirements. However, it can take months (6-12 months) to ensure all testing is complete on both sides.
We will provide a rough estimate after our initial scoping session.
How much does bespoke payroll software cost?
It completely depends on your requirements. Our quotes are individually supplied, and are based on our development day rate.
Due to being a unique configuration, the software typically costs more than off-the-shelf solutions. However, the long-term benefit of custom software is increased productivity and reduced requirements for additional integrations.
Can I make changes to the software?
We scope out the software in the early stages, and this is our agreed functional specification. Major tweaks to the configuration or changes to the brief may be subject to an additional quote.
Once the software is developed and signed off, further changes will be billed pieces of work, charged by day rate. That’s unless the changes fit under the remit of technical support i.e. you are experiencing an issue with the solution.
Will I have ongoing support?
You’ll receive a package of ongoing support from our UK-based support team. This includes a modern service desk and an Account Manager. We pride ourselves on our great customer service and reliable response times.
Is product training included?
Yes! So you can get the most out of your custom software, we’ll run you and your team through it and answer any questions. Further training sessions can be arranged at a small fee – otherwise your technical support allowance can be used to get a quick answer.
